Rainy Days Expected Across the Philippines This September MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos can expect a generally rainy start to September as the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to influence weather conditions across parts of Luzon and the Visayas. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Habagat is expected to bring occasional to monsoon rains over western sections of Luzon, while scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect other parts of the country. Luzon Western Luzon may continue to experience occasional to monsoon rains, particularly in areas affected by the Habagat. Metro Manila may also see periods of rain and thunderstorms. Visayas Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may occur in several areas, particularly as monsoon conditions shift throughout the month. Mindanao Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in many areas, with localized thunderstorms remaining possible.
